Steyr AUG A3/M1
What started as a passion project shaped our philosophy into all of our projects.
The Steyr AUG is an incredibly versatile platform that we wanted to add a touch of modularity to.
We decided to first optimize the white light mounting solution with our 90 degree offset receiver rail - which allows the user to mount their white light and/or laser device at a deeper angle and expands usable rail space on the rifle while keeping the overall weight low.
We we able to have three different designs made initially for function testing and to eventually find a light weight design, rigid enough to hold a zero when mounted correctly.
After collaborating with our machine shop and playing with different finishes for our prototypes on the 90 Degree Rail, we ended up with a durable and constant finish on the rail that made us happy. After about five complete redesigns, the rail was ready to be offered to AUG owners.
throughout this process we've befriended a number of owners and had a ton of help from new friends!
As we continue to study the platform, we'll work to develop on it's modularity.
