B&T GHM9

The B&T GHM9 was the perfect case study to develop an already great PCC into a customizable platform to fit your application.

The B&T GHM9 was the perfect place to begin branching off into other platforms other than the Steyr AUG for us.  It's compact and simple design was a great springboard for parts support. We wanted to first tackle the fore end with our SD-C and SD-O hand guards, to allow the user to run various suppressors available in the market and achieve that "SD" form and function without being restricted to a dedicated suppressor.

The parts we designed for the GHM9 are to leverage the users control over the platform - hence the hand guard designs we came up with.  We wanted to enhance the ergonomics of the platform while running a suppressor to get greater front end control and allow the user to attach more accessories while keeping a neat, compact package.

Beyond that, we wanted those who own a smaller diameter suppressor or a larger diameter suppressor to be able to configure the GHM9 to how they preferred without being restricted to a dedicated can.

We worked closely with the community for feedback on this one which really helped deliver a great final design.  To this point, there were four different designs considered ranging from a swan-neck design to a two-piece system.

As of 6/26/2023, the final printed prototypes have been made and will enter aluminum production in the near future.  Both variants (the open-top SD-O and closed-top SD-C models) will be for Gen. 2 GHM9's and will fit both 4" and 7" barrel models.

Both the SD-C and SD-O variants will feature full 1913 rail on the top and bottom positions along with M-LOK on the 3 and 6 o'clock positions. There is also some simply designed vent holes - made to match the design of the platform.

We plan to take what we learn and have learned from the development of these hand guards to not only expand on the GHM9, but to other B&T platforms as well.  More on that in the future!

After about a year of development and getting the metal sorted, pictured to the left is the final production, anodized version of the SD-C hand guard for the B&T GHM9.
